ELT Banbury does not accept students below the age of 16 years. On the whole most of our students are above the age of 18 and are legally responsible for themselves and classed as adults. In the rare cases when a student falls between the age of 16 and 18 years old special provision is made to ensure their safety and comfort whilst in Banbury. The provision includes:

Under 18’s are housed within 10 mins walk of the school .

An agreed time is set with the host family for the student to be home by usually 10 pm.

An Emergency 24hour hot line is available to the Director of Studies.

UK laws do not permit students under 18, to buy alcohol and tobacco and this is made clear to minors on arrival.
